BWAL exists with Secretary General Engr Abdullah-Al-Hussain. The association conducts healthcare initiatives in rural communities and bridges the gap between Bangladeshi community and local Basotho. Plans exist to bring Bangladeshi doctors to Lesotho.

The community is very small (likely a few hundred at most), concentrated in Maseru, and primarily consists of textile workers whose jobs are now at risk due to the sector crisis.
