Work Permit Process

Step 1: Secure a job offer from a North Macedonian employer who applies for a work permit at the Employment Service Agency (AVRM). Step 2: The employer must demonstrate that the position cannot be filled by a local citizen through a mandatory 15-day job posting. Step 3: Required documents: valid passport, employment contract, professional qualifications (translated and certified), medical certificate, and criminal background check from Bangladesh. Step 4: Apply for a visa type D (long-stay) at the nearest embassy or consulate. There is no North Macedonian embassy in Bangladesh; apply through the Embassy in Ankara, Turkey or New Delhi, India. Step 5: Work permits are issued for up to one year, aligned with the employment contract duration. Step 6: Upon arrival, register with the Ministry of Interior within 24 hours. Step 7: Apply for a temporary residence permit within 5 days of arrival. Step 8: After 3 consecutive years with a valid work permit, you may apply for a personal work permit allowing open employment.
